Doha Debates at TEDSummit Edinburgh: Unique opportunity for Scottish schools

Doha Debates is coming to the TED Global Summit in Edinburgh! Scotland’s teachers and young people are invited to join them to explore globalization with a host of prominent speakers.

Globalization has the potential for both positive and negative effects. As part of TED Global Summit: A Community Beyond Borders in Edinburgh, Doha Debates are keen to involve as many teachers and pupils from across Scotland in a one-off workshop which will explore globalization and its complexities with prominent speakers.

Globalization: Our Failure or our Future takes place on Wednesday 24 July 2019 from 2pm – 4pm at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

Doha Debates is new, different, respectful and challenging – a space to encourage different perspectives, hear the arguments, question them and turn ideas into action. In today’s deeply polarised and fragmented world, we have to learn to listen and act together.

The workshop will include input from some incredible international voices such as:

  • Ghida Fakhry, international broadcast journalist and award–winning presenter
  • Govinda Clayton, senior researcher in peace processes at the Centre for Security Studies at ETH Zurich
  • Nelufar Hedayat, award–winning journalist and documentary maker

Register yourself, staff or a group of young people from your school using the link below. We’re looking forward to meeting you there!
