In November 2023 in response to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, we hosted a webinar designed to support teachers in schools to engage their learners with sensitivity and confidence in the complex issues surrounding the developing situation.
The webinar was facilitated by teacher expert Jehan Al-Azzawi from the Liberton Learning Community. Before becoming a teacher, Jehan was an academic specialising in politics and international relations. Her PhD is in Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Edinburgh. Her expertise in this field relates to Islamist political movements, Hamas and Hezbollah in particular.
This webinar provided advice and tips, as well as signposted to high quality resources to support teachers to address the Israel-Palestine conflict in their classrooms.
