Mobile phones

Today we can’t imagine life without a mobile phone. More people in the world own a mobile phone than have access to a toilet. Young people are growing up worldwide in an environment where mobile phone technology is integral to their lives. This shared connection has both positive and negative impacts on diverse communities around the world.

These activities explore some of the many global connections and issues which lie behind our mobile phones. They include an exploration of technology justice, looking at worker’s rights in the production line, finding out what happens to our old mobile phones and case studies from Africa illustrating some of the ways mobile technology has transformed people’s lives.
