Tackling Climate Anxiety in the Classroom

This resource is for teachers to support thinking about the impact the Climate Emergency has on learners from upper primary through to secondary.

It has been designed in response to fears and challenges voiced by teachers. Our hope is that the ideas and reflections will build confidence and motivation to seek opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, whilst supporting the well-being of staff and learners.

Scotdec and Highland One World work within the IDEAS network to advocate for a Global Citizenship approach to learning around the Climate Emergency. Using participatory learning methodologies enables young people to enhance key skills and values to develop greater curiosity about the world and feel greater agency for positive change. We have curated a Padlet of recommended resources within the resource for further learning and teaching.
